Taper tip irons have been available in the golfing industry for "eons". The Xcaliber RT Taper Iron Golf Shafts follows this tradition and features:
- A consistent progression in stiffness to max-out performance for each club
- A very low balance point which helps golfers easily get the ball airborne which gets progressively lower as the shafts get shorter
- A constant weight design construction which delivers solid feel throughout the set
To maintain and verify the consistency of every shaft, we’ve implemented an industry-first testing protocol—100% frequency inspections at 0 and 90 degrees of both the butt and lower sections of the irons. Not just a single-point butt frequency inspection as with other shaft companies.
For slow-swinging amateurs, expect a medium to high ball flight without too much spin. This provides the best opportunity for maximizing distance.
The RT Taper Iron Golf Shaft also works well for low handicap players who swing a 6-iron up to 85+ mph with tempo and transition ranges from slow to medium, but who aren’t overly quick and aggressive. For these faster swing speeds, expect a medium to boring ball flight without excessive spin rates. This enhances control while increasing distance.
