Even though the 62-64 g Xcaliber SL Iron Shaft falls into the super light category, it feels substantial in your grip. It’s all in the way we construct it.
We manufacture the SL Iron Shaft using a patent pending filament winding process and a woven outer material that provides the stability and performance of much heavier shafts.
But it requires us to pay special attention to the distribution of torque because, in winding, all fibers are off-axis—i.e., no fibers run parallel to the shaft’s length. It’s what gives the shaft its unique stiffness and torque.
Consistent Shaft that Drives Distance
Though more intensive, this design approach allows us to increase the shaft’s dynamic stability. It also produces a super-consistent shaft in all axes when rotating it 360 degrees. It also has a lower balance point than the Xcaliber Tour SL Fairway Wood Shafts.
