More Distance and Consistency from Your Irons

Even though the 62-64 g Xcaliber SL Iron Shaft falls into the super light category, it feels substantial in your grip. It’s all in the way we construct it.

We manufacture the SL Iron Shaft using a patent pending filament winding process and a woven outer material that provides the stability and performance of much heavier shafts.

But it requires us to pay special attention to the distribution of torque because, in winding, all fibers are off-axis—i.e., no fibers run parallel to the shaft’s length. It’s what gives the shaft its unique stiffness and torque.

Consistent Shaft that Drives Distance

Though more intensive, this design approach allows us to increase the shaft’s dynamic stability. It also produces a super-consistent shaft in all axes when rotating it 360 degrees. It also has a lower balance point than the Xcaliber Tour SL Fairway Wood Shafts. This design principle, which is often overlooked, helps you get the ball airborne easily from any lie for maximum distance and control.

Designed for golfers who swing up to 100 mph with medium to slow tempos / transitions, the Tour SL Iron Shaft produces a medium to medium-high ball flight without excessive spin. This ensures you get more distance without sacrificing stability or feel.

Trim Instructions

Standard:

Use 0.5 in. increments starting with the 3-iron, progressing to 3.5 in. for the 9-iron and wedges.

Experienced Club Makers:

Given the unique 5 in. tip parallel on a Tour SL Iron Shaft, modifications to the above requirements can be made. This ensures the iron hosel depth is 1.5 in. or less.

Note: Trimming instructions are not set in stone (as a lot of companies will maintain). Rather they are a basic guide for assembly. Experimentation is definitely allowed and even encouraged once one has experience with the performance of any XCALIBER shaft.
